Cuttlebone

Cuttlebones are the internal, calcified shells of cuttlefish. After a cuttlefish dies, its cuttlebone floats to the surface and washes ashore, where it is collected for use as a natural calcium supplement for birds, reptiles, and other pets to support healthy bones and shells, aid eggshell production, and provide enrichment by encouraging natural chewing and pecking behaviors.

For turtles, tortoises and birds, chewing on cuttlebones also helps naturally wear down and shape their beak, reducing the risk of overgrowth.

In animals with continuously growing teeth, such as chinchillas and degus, it can help maintain healthy teeth and prevent overgrowth.
